PROJECTS (2024)
Meet the Future
The project was specifically designed for stay-at-home mothers in the Albanian community and focused on fostering their integration into Finnish society. Launched with a comprehensive workshop in March, the project emphasized the importance of Finnish language proficiency as a key step towards integration and offered insights into various societal opportunities. This initiative, supported by Moniheli and realized in partnership with DIAK AMK’s third-year social sciences students, aimed to inspire these women to step out of their comfort zones and explore new horizons, strengthening their individual lives and the community.
Discover your Skills
Autokton Ry’s “Discover Your Skills” initiative, supported by Moniheli, was a series of comprehensive workshops conducted from September to December 2023, aimed at empowering unemployed mothers within the Albanian community in Finland. Starting with identifying in-demand professional and soft skills relevant to today’s job market, the program progressed to practical sessions on CV and LinkedIn profile development, equipping participants with essential tools for employment. A highlight was the interactive workshop featuring industry experts who shared vital insights into the Finnish job market, offering a realistic perspective on employer expectations and career navigation strategies. This all-encompassing approach not only honed the participants’ skills but also boosted their confidence, preparing them for a successful re-entry into the workforce.
Multicultural Independence Day
Autokton ry was one of the organizers for the celebration of Finland’s Independence Day, an initiative supported by Moniheli and Kansalaisfoorumi, which emphasized the theme “FINclusion has no borders.” This multicultural event, showcasing a rich array of performances from various cultures, was a profound expression of Finland’s diverse and inclusive spirit. Alongside partners such as House of Helsinki and IWWOF – International Working Women of Finland, we contributed to an atmosphere of unity and celebration. The collective efforts of all partners and participants turned this occasion into a memorable tapestry of cultural richness, echoing the message that inclusion truly has no borders. This collaboration and our active involvement underscore Autokton Ry’s commitment to fostering intercultural understanding and celebrating the diversity within Finland.
